Do Asians care whether it is Mc. Cain or Obama??

It was said that when America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold.

Don't believe me, look at the rundown of the sub-prime credit crunch. When the mortgage lending among the financial institutions "sneezed", the rest of us are still staggering from financial tremors both felt at the banks and the stock exchange. Now we see the collapse of the Lehman Brothers empire (once retorted to be the king of global financial services), the whole world share market is still shaking with major dips in most Bourses.
When America instituted imports control on our countries, whole economies went into near financial bankruptcies due to the absence of massive imports  from US. Many healthy economies in the world are tied to the apparent good health of the US market.

What do we have to observe in this recent run-up to the Presidential election in US?

I believe the following thoughts will act as a rough guide to most decent man or woman on the street in Asia - as to whether the next President of US will act out in the well being of our future or not.

From my personal analysis on Obama, he is young and full of genuine vitality which speaks well of adaptibility to a  changing world - particularly a world that had harbored so much of racism, religious animosity, anti-cultural tolerances, and massive poverties. Obama seems to have the vigor and the vision to make this world a better place for the younger generation. The very fact that he is black, actually seems to release an inner struggle within himself, that he  has to make it into the Oval  Room just to prove a point for the underdog. Asia will benefit much from a new president who is bred differently from the normal Caucasian whites. Asia will be more happy to deal with someone who had struggled before in their younger years. Asia will look to Obama and maybe dissipate some of the hatred for white supremacy, that seems to be blamed for much of the wars and economic controlling woes that are in this world. However, the negative view is that he is inexperience, a dreamer and only a smooth talker. My argument is  that he will have many implementers who will support his vision and in turn make his plans come  true.

On the other platform, I can see that Mc Cain has been a great guy. He will die for America come what may. He is a non-joker, a no nonsense kind of person, inadaptable (willing to go against Bush if it is against his beliefs), and comes across as one who gives an eye for an eye. The good part is that he has a great Vice Presidential candidate in Palin, and  she balances what Mc Cain seems to lack. Palin is gentler, more motherly, more spiritual, higher moral standards, and stands for family values - which are greatly lacking in modern USA today. Mc Cain is one who may bomb Iran into oblivion and would not hesitate to wipe  out an entire habitat just for the  future interest of America. This is frightening - but such heroism and patriotism seems to play well with Americans at the current moment - seeing that the war against terror had already struck into the hearts of most American homes. For us in Asia, where multi-religious communities are prominent, an aggressive act against certain perpetrators may have a  domino effect on the rest of us. It seems that if Mc Cain is installed, he will most probably continue to further the hunt for Osama (not Obama) if it means searching for him in the Islamic militant camps of Ulu Tiram, Malaysia or Mindanao, Philippines.

As an Asian, Obama has  my vote of confidence and support. If I am an American on US soil, I will throw myself behind Mc Cain.

This is a comment.

I know too little of both candidates to give my own opinion.

But from your post, anyone who would bomb Iran -into oblivion- will not get my vote.

Violence is never justified.

Still, great post! =D
