Help our world is falling apart

The giant Ayles Ice Island drifting off Canada's northern shores has broken in two - far earlier than expected. In a season of record summer melting in the region, the two chunks have moved rapidly through the water - one of them covering 98km (61 miles) in a week.

The acceleration of the breaking of the Ice Shelf is too important for even the common man to ignore. What is happening in the Ice Island is a warning to the rest of the world, that we have not heeded earlier warnings - and the global warming disaster is in acceleration mode.

In time to come, millions of people will be displaced or drowned. Islands and coastal cities will be submerged.

Man-made levees like those built in New Orleans will be destroyed and humongous floods will cause untold damage to humankind.

What is your community doing to overcome global warming? Are you consciously promoting recycling of man-made waste? Is the future of the world more important than the race for accumulation of created wealth?

Can you voice out through the rightful channels - such as politicians, community boards and even social internet networking websites - about this danger?

Let's all do our part through the whole world today.
