Japan was up in fumes when they heard that one of their own people, a Japanese reporter, was gunned down in close range fire from the military police. Japan being one of the main financial supporters for Myanmar, has retaliated by proposing withdrawal of all financial support to Myanmar.
A reporter is often an innocent bystander in the midst of political turmoil. It had been said that bullets have no eyes, and how true it is. Kenji Nagai, the Japanese reporter, never asked for such a revolting treatment. It was just a normal assignment that any reporter would have taken to cover immediate news reporting for its home newspaper. Maybe, he should have carried a gun for self-protection but more often than not, it would have been misconstrued as hand-in-hand with the opposition parties.
What do you think? Would you take up journalism as a career? Do you like dangerous assignments if given a choice? Do you enjoy breaking top cover news for the masses through your feeds?
