Drug - Sodium Valproate (Efilim)









This is the chemical compound for the drug: sodium 2-propylpentanoate


After an operation of the brain, one of the drug that will be given for medication is "Sodium Valproate".

Sodium valproate or valproate sodium is the sodium salt of valproic acid and is an anticonvulsant used in the treatment of epilepsy and bipolar disorder, as well as other psychiatric conditions. It is also a mood stabilizer, i.e. it calms the nerves!

Why does a doctor prescribed such a drug?
It is a preventive drug to avoid fits or epileptic seizures.
